The tour starts from Melchior Ndadaye International Airport (Bujumbura) to drop you back at the same place. You will have the opportunity to explore various unique species of flora and fauna of Burundi, culture, enjoy safaris and local community lifestyle experiences.
Day 0: Airport transfer
You will meet me at the airport and drive you to your Hotel
Day 1: Bujumbura City Tour, within this city tour, we will visit different monuments (Unity monument, independence monument), art galleries, Living museum of Bujumbura, and Lake Tanganyika beaches. Overnight at Bujumbura
Day 2: Drive from Bujumbura to Rumonge for palm oil plantations and production, hot springs water, visit fisheries and traditional boats used for fishing, drive from Rumonge to Makamba for traditional dance show “ Agasimbo”. Overnight: Makamba province
Day 3: Drive from Makamba to Rutana for to Karera waterfalls, Pyramid of source of Nile, Germans fault and canopy walkway. Overnight in Gitega Province.
Day 4: Drummers show at Gishora, local community activities, Gitega national museum and Gitega City tour. Overnight in Gitega province.
Day 5: From Gitega to Ruvubu National Park
Get a briefing and penetrate in Park for Game drives, walking safaris (walking on foot to encounter the savannah grasslands with their inhabitants including buffaloes and other wild animals, birds, different plants species and visit local community activities around the park. Overnight in Muyinga Province
Day 6: Drive from Muyinga to Kirundo Province
Visit Cohoha Lake (It is an attractive area of cross border which takes with yaranda beach, agricultural and papyrus).Visit Rwihinda Lake (Lake of birds)
It is the most famous lake known as “Lake of Birds”. It presents hilly and swampy landscapes, we will have the boat ride : Overnight at Kirundo Province.
Day 7: Visit Shinge and Rugero Mountains where the war between Burundi and Rwanda took place. Visiting local community and cultural learnings (Intore dance): Overnight at Ngozi.
Day 8: Ngozi city tour (visit different monuments, beekeeping), visit Ku gasaka ka Inarunyonga and visit hot springs water at Kayanza: Overnight at Kayanza
Day 9: Drive from Kayanza to Kibira National Park
Get a briefing and penetrate in the forest for Game viewing (Chimpanzee tracking, black and white Columbus monkeys and baboons), birds, waterfalls and guided nature walks. Visit Tea plantations and Busekera Pygmy tribes. Overnight at Bujumbura.
Day 10: Visit Rusizi National Park (boat ride and view crocodiles, hippos, and different species of birds), visit Livingstone and Stanley monument, unity monument, down town, independence monument, living museum of Bujumnura and relax at Lake Tanganyika beaches; Overnight at Bujumbura.
